VILLA entered the resort business in 1986. After it acquired Fun Island (Bodufinolhu) located on the South Male Atoll. Villa transformed the island into a 100 room 3-star resort at a cost of US$ 3.9 million. Fun Island is a popular attraction and caters mainly to the Italian, French, German and UK markets. Fun Island has twice been awarded the Presidential Award for highest occupancy.

Second on the list was Dhiffushi or Holiday Island on South Ari Atoll which commenced operations in 1994. Holiday Island is a 4 star resort with 142 rooms. It caters mainly to the Italian, German and Swiss markets.

Paradise Island , developed simultaneously with Holiday Island houses 260 rooms. An extended capacity from 140 rooms in the year 1996. Functional from the year 1994, Paradise Island is the resort that's closest to the Male International Airport . Just 15 minutes away by speedboat. Paradise Island falls in the 5-star category and is the favourite haunt of the English, Italians, Japanese, Chinese and the Taiwanese.

In 1998 Villa opened its fourth resort. Sun Island (Nalaguraidhoo) on South Ari Atoll. A five star resort featuring 250 rooms, 4 presidential bungalows and 64 water bungalows. The resort, by Nature, is designed to be environment friendly. Making use of solar energy, recycling rain water, using state of the art technology for sewage treatment are just some of the resort's eco-friendly features. Moreover, the resort also undertakes farming so as to provide produce to its sister resorts and others. The resort was awarded the coveted Presidential Green Resort award in the year 2000.

Royal Island (Horubadhoo) on Baa Atoll is Villa's fifth resort that opened in March, 2001. A 5 star hotel with 150 beach bungalows, including 2 presidential suites.
